Today is our final sermon in the parenting where we’re going to take a look at some good and some not so good examples of parenting in the bible to see how we can glean some valuable tips on how to best parent our children.
At this evening’s service Seb will be continuing the series on relationships by looking at the area of friendship and how we can form true spiritual friendship. He will be looking at the friendship between David and Jonathon and how to apply the principles of their relationship to our own lives.

The Old Boys Gospel Band have had some availability issues for next week and have therefore had to postpone their visit to us. Instead Pastor Godfrey from Voice of the Lord Church will bring his amazing worship team and turn our service into an energetic, dancing, rhythmic celebration of African praise! So it will still be a week not to be missed!
Next Sunday evening we have Mark Broadbent coming back to share with us about relationships. Mark was here last year and spoke in our Big Questions series on how we are to engage with people who are gay from a Christian perspective. No doubt this will be another great opportunity to hear from God through Mark. Dinner will also be on after the service for $5, so a great night to come and bring friends!

Please check the table in the hall for any of your lost items. Items that remain on Monday 13th November will be donated to charity.

With our Annual General Meeting coming up
at the end of November, if you’re
considering church membership, we’ll need
to know by Sunday 12th November.
Membership gives you the ability to vote in
church meetings and have your voice
heard. It also shows your desire to belong to
the church and come under our belief
statement. To become a member, you must
be baptised and have a meeting with two
members (usually a pastor or elder and their
spouse), your name will be announced 2
weeks prior to the quarterly meeting and
voted on at the meeting. Please talk to one
of the pastors or call the church office for
more information. Haven’t been baptised
yet? We’d love to talk to you about that too!

If you coordinate a ministry of our church,
could you please prepare a submission to
be included in the Annual Reports book for
this year. Submissions ought to be a few
hundred words, telling the story of what
your ministry has been doing and the
difference it is making. They are due by
Sunday 12th November and are best typed
and emailed to our secretary Please contact
the church office prior to the deadline if you
need some assistance with this.

If you’ve joined us in the last 12 months
then you’re invited to come along to get to
know our Pastors, history and future vision
of our church while enjoying some yummy
pizza and meeting others who have also
joined us recently. Pizza with the Pastors
will be held at Kruger Parade Baptist on
Monday 6th November at 6pm. Today is
your last chance to RSVP. Please let one
of our Pastors know if you are your family
would like to attend.

Our next working bee will be held on
Saturday 18th November from 7am-10am
only. As we will be cleaning the kitchen
there will be no morning tea. Please come
along for an hour or two to help get our
church and grounds spruced up for the
Christmas period. Please bring along
gardening tools such as rakes and
wheelbarrows as well as cleaning cloths
and brushes.

Prayer is a vital part of both our Christian
walk and our church’s well being. Each
week we will be encouraging the church to
pray for a different ministry in our church
and the needs of our community. This
week’s focus will be on our Church Annual
General Meeting.
 Pray for nominations for elders and
deacons for 2018
 Pray for elders as they seek out and
confirm Ministry Leaders for the new
 Pray for the Master Planning
Committee as they prepare their
report for the Members Meeting.
 Pray for Phillip McCallum as he
prepares the Annual Report.
 Pray that our members will be able
to attend and that we attain the
required quorum.
Other prayer points:
Please continue to pray for the leaders of
our nation and the nations around the
world that they may seek ways to bring
peace to our troubled world.
Pray for our Federal Government and the
consequences of the ongoing dual
citizenship matter affecting so many of our
elected representatives.
