And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Hebrews 10:24 – 25
Since the very beginning God has created us for companionship. He encourages to do life ‘together’ showing the world our love for Him through our love for each other. By getting to know each other in a small group we can be there for celebrating the good times and supporting each other in the tough seasons. James Taylor used to sing “You’ve got a friend” when responding to these lyrics, “When you’re down and troubled and you need a helping hand and nothing, whoa, nothing is going right.” I also like the wisdom Solomon shared in Proverbs 13 v 20. “He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.”
